Wherever you go, there you are

Someone once asked, “What are the people like in London?”
I asked him, “What are the people like in your home town?”
He replied, “Selfish and greedy.”
I told him, “You would probably find the people in London to be selfish and greedy.”
We tend to believe that if we were somewhere else - on holiday, different home, different circumstance - we would be happier and more content. We wouldn’t! If we tend to focus on being peaceful where we are, rather than wishing we were somewhere else, we can find peace in the present.
